ABOUT VENEERS

cosmetic dental veneer

What are the benefits of Porcelain Veneers?

Porcelain veneers are thin shells of medical-grade ceramic that are attached to the front surfaces of teeth for an immediate smile transformation.

Veneers are a non-surgical solution to problems including tooth gaps, cracked, chipped and stained teeth and incorrectly-sized teeth.

They can provide you with the color and efficiency that you are seeking and make eating and talking easier. What’s more, it’s usually difficult to tell the difference between your veneers and your remaining teeth.

Veneers are also stain-proof. You can maintain your veneers in the same way you would treat your normal teeth.

What’s the process of getting Porcelain Veneers?

After a consultation, giving you a full understanding of the process, why each stage needs to occur and deciding that veneers are right for you, we can add the veneers. We will then create a wax model of your smile to show you will your teeth will look like. This provides the right aesthetics while giving the tooth its function back. The process usually takes around three months and you will normally be given temporary veneers. The temporary veneers will give you an insight into how the end result will look and feel and gives us the chance to make adjustments if needed before the permanent veneers are fitted. Once this period is over, you can expect to have bite function fully restored. The process cannot be reversed once the permanent veneers are in place.

Who gets Veneers?

Veneers are suitable for anyone with slight gaps in their teeth, or cracked, chipped and stained teeth. We have provided adults of all ages with veneers in the past. A number of A-list celebrities have invested in veneers but this does not mean that our solutions are out of your price range. Call today to find out more.

Will I need to follow any special instructions after undergoing dental sedation?

With the exception of nitrous oxide, all other dental sedation methods require that you have a driver present to drive you home after the procedure. This is because the sedation effects will last longer than the procedure itself. Depending on the level of sedation you receive, it may also be advisable to have someone monitor you for the first 24 hours after your procedure. After receiving dental sedation, it is important to take it easy, drink plenty of water, and start out by eating stomach-friendly foods.

Who should consider Sedation Dentistry?

Dental sedation is ideal for individuals who experience feelings of anxiety or fear when visiting the dentist, as well as those who have an active gag reflex. Almost anyone can safely undergo dental sedation, however, there are a few exceptions. For example, pregnant women, people with allergies to benzodiazepines, those with sleep apnea, or those who are taking certain medications may not be ideal candidates for sedation.

Because safety is our priority, our office offers consultations to determine if dental sedation is appropriate and what form would be best for your individual needs. During your consultation, you will be greeted and welcomed into our dental family. Our doctors will get to know you, listen, answer any questions you may have, and establish a good foundation for your oral health.
